After a rural upbringing in Groton, NY, Sam Adams left home to study music composition at SUNY Purchase and later went on to get a master’s degree in student affairs from Syracuse University. Sam spent eight years working in various college offices (such as career services, academic advising, and residence life) and is thrilled to be part of The Cortland LGBTQ Center. She currently lives in Homer with her wife and their brood of furry children: cats Oliver and December and a beagle-mix named Lily. When Sam isn’t at The Center, she writes queer books for teens under the not-so-secret identity, Isabel Sterling. Stop by The Center to chat books, drag queens, or to say hello!
